downpour
not complaining about the rain. not complaining at all, even though my feet are still pink (wore red socks) from the downpour i experienced on friday on my trek into work. or the fact that i am now wearing damp jeans from the downpour i just experienced driving to pick my dear husband up.
i cannot imagine life where hurricanes are coming right now, where the downpour of my pink feet is nothing in comparison to what could happen to people, their homes, their family photos, memories, etc. in the grand scheme of things, kentucky does not experience a lot of horrible weather tragedies. sure, there are tornadoes. and floods. but the hurricanes that come to stay and check out what you made last night for dinner, and ooh, let me smash your house, and soak your clothes and bedding... that we don't have.
people who live with this amaze me. i would bail and live elsewhere. i don't have it in me to rebuild. the reestablish. so i see these people on tv trying to get to shelter, trying to leave town, and my heart goes out to them. it really does. hopefully the worst they have to suffer is pink feet from wearing red socks.
(ps, the photo is of thomas as i made him hold the umbrella over me so i could take photos atop notre dame on a rainy rainy day... all princess, all the time)
