i just give 'em play-do
thomas and i had the luxury to sit in on a foreign language class this summer. if you are curious as to what his facial expression is stating, well, let me tell you. his face is stating that he is in pain and misery for the kids who were learning absolutely nothing but he was going to "pretend" to be interested for the kid's sake.
it was bad. real bad. the sad thing is, all teachers have had bad lessons. things can go wrong so quickly in a classroom and sometimes all you can do is watch the train wreck and position yourself for the best view. or take cover.
but then there are times when you see someone else's class and you see the wreck before your eyes. the tragedy isn't the wreckage and carnage of one lesson plan. no. what hurts him and me is to see a bad lesson and to know that this is just one of a thousand bad lessons. and that the teacher has no clue nor cares to have a clue.
it was a painful hour for the both of us but i had the good fortune to get to take photos and not have to participate in a horrible exercise of nothingness. isn't he cute?
