correct me if i'm wrong

so while i was doing the cnn rundown yesterday which involves me reading all the titles, clicking some links, then repeat, i came across a health article on this new pill that gets rid of periods.

in this article, i would like to point out that they state the following: Surveys have found up to half of women would prefer not to have any periods, most would prefer them less often...

um.  so.  like... does anyone else see the stupidity of that statement?  did someone really throw money away polling and surveying women about their periods?  really?  they did that?  because i have yet to meet the woman who said, "d@mn, i love my period.  it's awesome!"  never.  haven't met her yet.  why do stupid surveys exist?

Oh, but there is something to be said for having a regular period. (Shocking, I know.) It's a pretty good indicator of whether one might have gotten accidentally pregnant, and I think I'd want to know lest I spend the next however many months indulging in things that I might not indulge in if I thought I was pregnant...

I agree with Leah. I'm not a huge fan of the period, but I look forward to it every month as a nice reminder that no, I'm not pregnant. I toyed with the one where you get your period four times a year, but even that's a little too uncomfortable of an idea for me.

ok. i think you all are over thinking my point here. if you could get rid of the period with no worries of health problems, pregnancy, disease, hot flashes, etc... wouldn't you want to? (not promoting pill here, just talking on the theoretical level).

my point is, i think most women, in fact i would argue all women would forgo this little evolutionary monthly thing if they could in place of something else... think, magic pony.
