Film: January 2007 Archives

i have to disclose something before i write this post.  otherwise, you could take my advice and see the movie and then possibly hate me for it.  so here is my disclosure:  i have a very high tolerance for films.

this means that i can sit through pretty much anything and watch it to the end.  i enjoy about 99% of all movies made.  there is nothing i can do about this.  i can differentiate between a good movie, a bad movie, a movie you would sit through and a movie i would sit through.  so.  if you follow my advice, and then yell at me because you disagree with my comments, you have no one to blame but yourself.

we went to the movies last night to see children of men.  now, i hadn't really heard anything about it and i knew it had clive owen (hhhhho-té).  now the premise is one that is not talked about much except in a handful of books: handmaid's tale, woman on the edge of time, children of men, etc.  but what if, what if the world went sterile?  what if  no babies were born?  what if it was only a matter of time for the world to go extinct, and all you can do is sit back and watch?
